The Seekers Sunday School Class will resume on September 12th at 10:00 a.m. in Room 102. We’ll study “The Prodigal God” which correlates with the sermon series the pastors will begin in mid-September. Anyone interested in this study is welcome to attend. FUMC Community Outreach will meet September 12, 2010, at 4:00 p.m. in the Chapel. Please join us, learn more about what is happening, and consider joining in this ministry to the hungry, homeless, poor, diseased, and imprisoned John Alvarez, co-founder, and Barbara Carvel, director, will present the vision of Project Hope which provides housing for families. FYI: We are meeting every Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. in the Family Life Center to provide a meal and assistance to the needy. (Matthew 25:40). Caring Choir Please mark your calendars. Everyone is welcome. We sing the "good old hymns" at nursing homes and sometimes stop for lunch at a restaurant. Invite your friends and family to join us! Monday, September 20th - Bus leaves FLC parking lot at 1:30 p.m. to go to Hampton Manor, 1810 SE 16th Ave.; Wednesday, October 6th - Bus leaves FLC parking lot at 1:00 p.m. to go to The Windsor, 2650 SE 18th Ave.; Monday, November 15th - Bus leaves FLC parking lot at 2:00 p.m. to go to Emeritus East, 1601 SE 24th Road and Friday, December 10th - Bus leaves FLC parking lot at 2:15 p.m. to go to Timberridge, 9848 SW 110th St.

Calling all women – 20 to 90+ years! Do you have a desire to approach life with a different perspective – to face challenges more fearlessly? “Deborah’s Daughters” is a 12 month journey with a small group of like-minded women who are seeking to know God more intimately. Learn about yourself, your gifts, and the call God has on your life. Groups begin in September. Learn more at graceencouragement.org. VaxCare will hold their Flu Shot Clinic in the Family Life Center on Thursday, September 16th from 9:00 a.m. to Noon. To sign up for your Flu Shot go to www.vaxcare.com, click on “Patient Sign Up” and enter Clinic ID #10116.

FUMC COMMUNITY OUTREACH The Marion County Jail Re-Entry Program needs toiletry items for released men and women, and children’s books for them to give their children when returning home. Boxes will be labeled and placed in the Family Life Center.

FUMC Directory It's once again time for our church pictorial. There is no cost to have your photographs taken, and you will receive a complimentary 8x10 portrait and directory for participating. If you need to change, cancel, or are unable to make your appointment online please call Ann Thomas at 732-4161 and she will assist you. Interfaith is in need of office volunteers for the summer. If you can volunteer three hours per week – please contact Nita at 629-8868. Interfaith also needs the following hygiene items: shampoo, deodorant, bar soap, toilet paper, tooth paste, tooth brushes, razors, diapers (all sizes), baby wipes and combs. Bring your donations by the Church Office.

Covenant Group will resume Wednesday, September 8th from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 Noon, in Room 39. Our study book is by John Ortberg – If You Want to Walk on Water, You’ve Got to Get Out of the Boat. Need more information, call Arlene Koenig at 694-1640.
