KIDS FOR CHRIST (Children’s Ministry Program)
Attention Parents of Children Birth through 5th Grade: Beginning today please sign your child into the Children’s Ministry Welcome Room before the service. Your child will receive a name tag and will then be able to leave with Mrs. Shannon after the Children’s Message. If you are unable to sign your child in before Church please bring your child after the Children’s Message to be signed in. No children will be allowed in the Rich Building unless their parent has appropriately signed them in. Thanks for your help on making our Children’s Ministry safe for all.
Mission Trip to Birmingham, Alabama - We are pleased to report that at least 12 individuals have joined the Mission Team to return to Alabama to assist with the ongoing recovery relating to the April, 2011 storm which destroyed hundreds of homes and claimed many lives. The Mission Team will depart Ocala on March 4th and return on March10th. We have space for additional Team Members and we invite you to consider joining the Team. Special construction skills are not required. If you would like to learn more about this opportunity to serve, please contact Al Tomek (629-1970) or Al Simmons (236-0843). Donations to assist with the cost of this effort are sincerely appreciated.
Bikes for the homeless...We have more than 50 requests for bikes from many of our Tuesday morning visitors. Most of those requests come from homeless men and women who are either looking for work or are coping with some kind of disability. A bike would make their lives so much easier. After placing 30 bikes over the Christmas season (thanks to so many good-hearted folks!) we find our bike source all but gone. So we are asking for your help. If you could donate a bike (either new or used) please bring it to the Family Life Center on Tuesday mornings between 10:00 a.m. to Noon. We have two volunteers from those whom we have helped in the past able to make minor repairs on sight. Thank you in advance to everyone who is able to help in this way.
Outreach to Homeless Children and their Families…As an extension of our Community Outreach Ministry we will be helping the homeless children in our community. Each week we will post items needed for the following week that you can bring to Church. The items for January 29th are: individual packaged snacks.
