We have had many requests to do some combined CHU
events so
we thought we would start our summer schedule a month
early. On
Wednesday, April 30 we will begin the following schedule:
5:30
p.m.—Middle School Students arrive @ the house of CHU (Renfroe
Youth Center)
6:30
p.m.—High School Students arrive @ the house of CHU
7:30
p.m.—Middle School Students are picked-up
8:30
p.m.—High School Students go home
This will give us some time
together as a big group for worship and a message as well
as some time apart for small groups and appropriate age
level activities. This
is going to be awesome!!!
See you Wednesday!!!
Graduation Sunday is May 18th. If you are
graduating from high school or college this year we need
to know about it. Art
would like a picture and a short bio from each student
including parent’s names, future plans, favorite
scripture passage, and hobbies, etc.
Please drop your picture and info off at the Church
Office ASAP. We will be printing a keepsake booklet with all the pictures
and information in it for all students.
The booklet will be given out at the worship
service on May 18.
This
summer we
are limiting the number of students going to Lake
Junaluska to 50 students.
If you are interested in going along with us—the
trip is July 9-14, 2008 and the cost is $250.00.
This includes a day at Six Flags Over Georgia,
travel, lodging, most food, and lots more. We already have 30 students signed up and paid!!!
If you want to go, get your registration and
deposit in now.
CHU
Small Groups will begin in May. If
you are not in a small group and want to get hooked up put
your name on the list in the CHU building or talk to Art
or any of the adult leaders and we will get you in a small
group. You
can choose middle school guys, middle school girls, high
school guys or high school girls.
Small groups rock!!!

enter a professional church or church related career.
Also, first priority shall go to members of First
Church. Applications
for the Fall, 2008 school term are due in the Church

interest free loan to be paid back upon graduation.
As many of you know we have started sending a weekly e-mail and a weekly phone reminder out
to let you know what is going on in CHU Student Ministries.
This is important information and we want to connect with
all our families. If
you have not been getting an e-mail and a phone reminder each week, please call the
Church Office (622-3244, ext. 232) and give us your e-mail address
and phone number so we can keep you connected.
Adult Volunteers are
needed…Art, Kevin and Wayne are looking for adults to
volunteer with leading projects in music, art, drama, and dance
with our church youth on Wednesday evenings with the Middle School
and on Sunday evenings with the Senior High.
Those projects will then be incorporated into Sunday
morning worship services and off-campus trips.
Contact us in the Church Office (622-3244) if you can help
(Art-ext. 232, Kevin-ext. 228 and Wayne-ext. 350).
Have
you been getting
the CHU e-mails and phone calls?
