Anne most recently served as the Associate Director in the Office of Clergy Excellence of the Florida Conference of The United Methodist Church. Her twenty-plus years of ministry experience includes serving as a pastor and associate pastor in a variety of local churches in Massachusetts, Mississippi, and Florida, as well as a chaplain at Millsaps College. She also serves as a spiritual formation teacher, retreat leader, and pilgrimage guide. Anne graduated summa cum laude from both Mount Holyoke College with a Bachelors of Arts degree in English Literature and Religious Studies, and from Boston University School of Theology with a Masters of Divinity degree.
David most recently served as Director of Higher Education and Campus Ministry for the Florida Conference of The United Methodist Church. Prior to that appointment, he served in Gainesville as Pastor/Director at University UMC and Student Center, which became the Gator Wesley Foundation during his tenure. He served previously as a pastor of churches in Mississippi, as well as a program coordinator at the Fund for Theological Education in Atlanta. David graduated from Millsaps College with a Bachelors of Arts in Religious Studies and from Duke University Divinity School with both a Masters of Divinity degree and a Masters of Theology degree.
Shannon Vianello born in Hattisburg, MS and moved to Ocala, FL at the age of seven. The youngest of three sisters, she was confirmed and even sang in the Children’s Choir at Ocala First UMC. She graduated from the University of Florida with a degree in Elementary Education and married her husband Mark Vianello in 1992. Shannon and Mark have three wonderful kids, John, Nicole and Christine who keep them very busy. When she isn’t doing Children’s Ministry stuff or “being a mom” she enjoys decorating, going on adventures, playing with her Golden Retrievers, being with her family and then finding more ideas for Children’s Ministry!”
Brooke Cole is excited to return to FUMC, where she was confirmed as a young teen. She has 12 years’ experience with Children’s Ministry around Ocala including being former Director of Children’s Ministry at First Presbyterian Church. Brooke is happy to join FUMC with her husband, Alex, and three children. Brooke is creative, enthusiastic and has heart for teaching children about the love of Jesus.
Kylie grew up in New Smyrna Beach, Florida and graduated from the University of Florida in 2014 with degrees in Psychology and Religion. She met her husband, Kenneth, at Gator Wesley, the Methodist campus ministry at UF. They were married in July of 2016 and moved to the New York-area shortly afterward. Kylie was the Youth and Communications Coordinator at First UMC in Westfield, NJ. Kylie has been working in ministry since 2012 and rightly believes it is the greatest job in the world. She loves books, coffee, the Gators, and most of all Jesus! Kylie will begin her work with us on August 9.
David leads our Praise Band at our 9:00 am service. He also guides our youth praise band and oversees our tech ministry. A native of central Florida, David grew up in Deland and moved to Ocala in 2011 from Nashville, TN. He has a Bachelor’s of Music in Piano Performance from Stetson University and a Masters in Music Composition from Belmont University. He is an independent contemporary Christian music recording artist as well as a composer and arranger of art songs, choral anthems, and orchestral works. David plays piano and guitar, and when he is not making music, he is playing tennis! David is married to Cheri, a nurse practitioner. Both are avid beach lovers and part-time world travelers. They have a cute cavachon dog named Kushbi and an adorable one year old boy named Bodie.
Vicky leads our chancel choir and handbell choir and is expanding our traditional music ministries. Vicky also leads our worship arts program with our children. Vicky was born and raised in Athens, Tennessee. She received her Bachelor of Music Degree from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville and pursued graduate studies at the University of Georgia. She traveled as a soloist for several years before settling down to raise a family. Vicky also has several music education books published and her musicals have been performed in several states. Vicky moved to Ocala in 1994 to be close to her parents and immediately became part of the local music community. She was conductor/accompanist at the Ocala Civic Theatre for 8 years; taught in public and private schools and directed choirs for local churches. Vicky is married to Ralph Juliano, also a local musician and prosthetist. Two of her three children live in Ocala and son, Stephen in Las Vegas.
Bobbi Deriso is a life-long resident of Marion County. She graduated from St. Leo University with a BA in Elementary Education and spent 12 years as an elementary educator (minus the one year that she ventured into middle school and then quickly returned!). Following God’s calling, she began as Director of Preschool ministries at FUMC in November of 2012. She married Brian Deriso, a high school chemistry teacher in 2009 and together they have a blended family of five children: Ashton, Coralei, William, Liam and Madigan (“yours, mine & ours”). In her free time, she loves to read, go to the movies and spend time with family and friends. Alongside a team of phenomenal preschool staff, she shares OFP’s mission of being kind, being helpful and showing God’s love to others.
Charlene Cranmer was born in Philadelphia, PA. She began piano and organ studies at Philadelphia College of Bible. During her junior year, she transferred to the Philadelphia Musical Academy to complete her B.Mus. in Organ Performance. Graduate studies were at Temple University (M.Mus. in Choral Conducting). Charlene later earned a Master of Arts in Teaching from The College of New Jersey and began a second career teaching high school music. As a long-time member of the American Guild of Organists, Charlene has completed both the Service Playing Certificate and the Colleague of the American Guild of Organists certificate. In 2017, Charlene retired from teaching high school music and she and her husband Steve relocated from New Jersey to The Villages, Florida. Charlene loves the Florida weather and is thrilled to finally be able to play golf year-round! Other hobbies include reading, gardening and crocheting. Charlene and Steve are the parents of three adult children and seven grandchildren.
Sue Ross joined the staff of Ocala First United Methodist Church in September, 1994 as a part-time receptionist. In January, 1995 her position changed to full-time. Since then she has held several different staff positions – becoming the Secretary to the Ministers in 1997. Sue is married to Larry and they have one daughter, Amanda. When she isn’t in the Church Office she enjoys motorcycling with her husband, reading and watching sports
